Product Description
Many chemical baths are designed to hold various chemicals. The need to uniformly heat or cool these chemicals is met by universal heat exchangers. In its basic design, the heat exchanger consists of two adaptors connected by multiple lengths of tubes. The adaptors are round blocks with multiple holes to house tube ends, connected to a fluid pumping device.
The fluid passes through the tubes, heated or cooled to regulate the chemical bath temperature. The tubes - which may be many meters long - are submerged in the chemical bath, enabling heat transfer between the chemical and the tube fluid. The tube size, length, and quantity determine the fluid volume capacity, while wall thickness affects heat transfer efficiency.
PTFE (Teflon) heat exchangers follow this design, with both adaptors and tubes made from pure virgin PTFE.
PTFE Heat Exchangers: A Universal Solution for Corrosive Environments
The inert nature of PTFE (Teflon) makes it ideal for corrosive chemical applications. PTFE remains non-reactive to almost all chemicals (except sodium and alkalis at elevated temperatures) and maintains its properties up to 250°C. This exceptional chemical resistance allows system designers to incorporate PTFE without concern for chemical compatibility.
These heat exchangers provide reliable temperature control for acid and alkaline solutions in demanding industrial processes.
